Most Anticipated New Season Releases of 2020 (6-10)

What’s up everyone! It is here! 2019 is coming to a close and hit us hard with a lot of powerhouse anime this year! New series such as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba, The Rising of the Shield Hero, Fruits Basket, The Promised Neverland and returning series such as Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, and One Punch Man taking the stage, winning our hearts, and leaving us wanting an encore! And guess what? We are getting that encore. Here is a list of my top 10 Most Anticipated Anime with a 2020 New Season Release (6-10)

10. Isekai Quartet

Don’t let the cute Chibi like animation fool you! This show is actually pretty funny!

Isekai Quartet takes four different groups of characters from different isekai worlds (Re: Zero, Overlord, The Saga of Tanya the Evil, and KonoSuba) and transport them into a shared dimmension where they must attend school together which results in chaotic shenanigans. It is super cute and super funny seeing how the different dynamics of each show’s characters clash! What’s also super great is that every episode is no longer than 12 minutes long giving it a great cadence and comedic timing making it the perfect series to binge or just watch when you are in need of a good laugh!

Season 2 actually introduces some new characters to the Isekai, Naofumi Iwatani, Raphtalia, and Filo from The Rising of the Shield Hero, as they should!

9. The Irregular at Magic High School

Set in a future where magic is seen as a science and taught to students as a technical skill, siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba have gotten accepted into the most prestigious magical high school in Japan. Upon taking the exam, Miyuki is placed in the First Course (the Class 1A of this magical high school), and Tatsuya, was ironically placed in the Second Course (the not so acclaimed class). However what makes Tatsuya the irregular at this magic high school is that he harnesses extraordinary technical knowledge, physical combat capabilities, and some unique magic techniques.

This next season is going to keep the same characters, however, they will be given a makeover that will give them a more lush design. The next season will also introduce new main character that is transfer student from abroad. This is pretty serious since magicians are typically not allowed to go outside of their home country’s borders for it may reveal national security secrets. But Angelina Kudou Shields is a rare exception to the case. And it just so happens that when Lina arrives to Japan, a being that drain the blood of their victims have begun attacking the magicians in the Land of the Rising Sun… Hm, it just can’t be a coincidence that these two abnormal events are taking place at the same time.

8. Kaguya Sama: Love is War 2

Whew! This show was so different and so funny in ways I didn’t expect. Don’t get me wrong! The first ten minutes of Episode 1 I had to take a deep breath because the humor in this series is so much! Like how the two main characters go out of their way to make the other one ask them out is so ridiculous and unbearable….that it’s hilarious!

Pretty much, the series is centered around Student Council President Miyuki Shirogane and Vice President Kaguya Shinomiya. These two are seen as the perfect couple in the eyes of the student body, but both are WAYYYYY to proud to confess their love and scheme to make the other confess their love first. I’m telling it is very different from most comedies and also very genius at the many ways these two think of how they can manipulate the other person into doing what they want without saying it. It’s almost kind of a mock to the Japanese culture, for the Japanese are NOT AT ALL direct people.

There’s not much word on what this next season will be about but it is confirmed the season one cast is returning!

7. The Disastrous Life of Saiki K

I cannot tell you how much I live for this series! By far, one of the best comedies in anime history! The main character has such as deadpan, sarcastic sense of humor that you can probably describe as straight bitchy but FUNNY! Also the comedy in the other characters is so random and off the wall i t is hilarious!

This series follows a high school student by the name of Kusuo Saiki, a teenager who was born with wide array of psychic abilities such as telepathy, psychokinesis, teleportation, turning himself invisible, fighting a volcano to stop the world’s destruction, time travel to avoid a girl who is obsessed with him, becoming God, flying, conjuring storms (becoming God), and SO MUCH MORE! He just wants to live a normal life! He tries to avoid as much attention as possible, but still ends up secretly using his powers to help out his fellow classmates at P.K. Academy.

Now, for those of you her were a fan of last season. Get ready for a change. Saiki is getting a whole new series entitled The Disastrous Life of Saiki K: Chapter: Restart. This still will feature our pink haired hero but along with some new characters such as Takumi Iguchi, a hot blooded teacher who is always mistaken as a pervert because of his filthy face and Hii Suzumiya, a character that always suffers bad luck but takes them as her own mistakes. This new season/series will actually premiere in Winter of 2020!!

6. Fruits Basket

MY HEART!❤ So if you don’t know… this series has taken my heart away twice! In 2001 and now! I am sooooo fortunate to see that the creators have extended the series from 24 episodes into multiple seasons to take their time with the characters and cover the full manga.

This series simply about finding a place to call your home! Fruits Basket tells the story of Tohru Honda, an orphan girl who, after meeting Kyo, Shigure, and Yuki Sohma, learns that twelve members of the Sohma family are possessed by the animals of the Chinese Zodiac and are cursed to turn into their animal forms when stressed, weakened, or hugged by the opposite sex. As you can imagine, these people have been outcasts to the real world. Being stripped of friendships, relationships, and even parents. All because they know they wouldn’t ever be loved by normal humans, and you have the head of the Sohma family Akito to thank for that. Manipulating and abusing the cursed members into doing his bidding because they do not know anyone else who would accept them for who they are…until Tohru Honda appears! She is taken into the Sohma household by Shigure and every day continues to change the lives of the Sohmas family with her big heart and warm wisdom from her late mother. In this series, Tohru was never looking for a home, but she definitely made one with the Sohmas.

This heartwarming tale of friendship and family will be returning in the spring of 2020 for its second season continuing the arc of what other darkness lies within the Sohma family and what will unfold from it. Tohru has already proven herself worthy of healing anyone with a traumatic past, let’s see what else is to come!

If you enjoyed that list, it just keeps getting better from there. Tune in next time for my Most Anticipated New Season Releases of 2020 (1-5)! Stay fierce and stay awesome!
